Self-help centres are free walk-in clinics created to help people help themselves. Litigants receive personal assistance with legal forms and information seeking redress without a lawyer. The centre does NOT provide legal advice or representation. Rather, it is a resource center with information, books, and PEOPLE available to guide a person through the court process. Self-help legal access centres provide legal information and assistance to unrepresented individuals seeking help in family law, housing, injunctions and other civil matters. The Los Angeles Legal Aid Foundation`s Self-Help Legal Access Centers offer self-represented litigants assistance to: Do you help with affidavits or probate questions? As a volunteer, you will work directly with litigants. They help litigants complete family and housing court paperwork.
