Port Hueneme Legal

Command legal officers who need help with legal matters now have the choice of going to an office at Port Hueneme Naval Base in Ventura County or Point Mugu. The Naval Legal Office is located at Bldg. 1180 aboard Port Hueneme and offers a wide range of free legal advice and services for active services, retirees and family members. Military personnel who require assistance with legal matters can visit the Naval Legal Services Office, also located in Building 1180. The regional office is located on the upper floor, next to the courtroom; The Naval Legal Services Office is located on the ground floor. “We can now offer legal advice closer to the Port Hueneme commands,” said Judge Advocate Lt. Kai V. Bernal. “We are happy to support all local commands in case of problems.” The Regional Legal Office provides information on courts martial, ethics, administrative separation, extrajudicial sanctions, equal opportunities and complaints in general. It can also advise on requests under the Freedom of Information and Fundraising Act. Recently, a regional legal office was opened in Building 1180 in Port Hueneme, offering the same services as the office in Building 1 in Point Mugu.
